Use this mode for daytime scenery, natural landscapes and cityscapes.

1. Using the flash strobe
When the lighting is not sufficient for your shooting environment, the flash can provide the extra light you need.

Press the button to switch the flash mode that cycles through four choices - Flash off, Auto, Red-eye reduction, and Flash forced on the LCD display.

Flash off Auto
The strobe does not fire. The strobe and the red-eye reduction will automatically fire as more light is needed. The strobe always fires.
Red-eye reduction Flash forced
Charging the flash strobe requires more battery power. A positive value indicates the display will be brighter than usual; while a negative value makes the result dimmer.

Using the

The button is a shortcut key allows you to immediately apply the functions which are in common use (for more details, please see the table on the next page), meanwhile, you can view the change of the image on the LCD display with the setting.

Auto
This item determines the best white balance setting automatically for your shooting environment. Suitable for indoor shooting with incandescent lamp lighting (low color condition).
Tungsten
Fluorescent
Suitable for indoor shooting with fluorescent lamp lighting (high color condition). Select this item to increase the brightness value of the subject when the subject is lit from behind light.
Back light
Black and white Solarized
Change the shot to black and white.
Change the shot to over-exposed.
Normal
No effect on the shot.
The items of the table above are frequently used modes of this camera. Auto, Tungsten and Fluorescent are the white balance modes (see page 28), Back light is the exposure mode (see page 29) and Black and white, Solarized and Normal are effect modes.

Setting the language
When you switch the camera on for the first time, the LCD display may not be shown in your local language. You can set the LCD display language by using the method below.

Adjusting the white balance (WB)
You can manually select the white balance setting to suit the shooting environment.

Select this item to enable the strobe when the subject is in the night.
Macro
Select this item when taking a close-up shot. The macro shooting distance of the camera is 8" (20 cm).

Setting the date stamp
Enabling the date stamp will print the date of shooting on the picture.
