The display shows "standby mode" while not in use. Pressing the C-key once will take you up to previous level in the menu; holding the C-key down will take you to the standby mode.

The 9d23 Messenger MkII and /-Protector MkII are robust cordless units designed to function in tough environments. They are members of the 9d23 handset family that comes in five different versions: from 9d23 Talker MkII for voice communication only, to the intrinsically safe version 9d23 EXProtector MkII, equipped with text receiver, personal alarm and no-movement alarm.

Receive a text message When a text message is received, a message tone sounds and the "New message" icon is displayed. The text message is displayed for one minute and thereafter stored in the memory. To accept messages with demand for acknowledge; see User Manual, Cordless Unit 9d23 MkII. Redial/Scrolling between calls and messages · To redial, press the "Arrow down" on the Scroll key. All call numbers are shown; last dialled call numbers, answered calls and not answered calls. The time when a call is dialled/ received during the actual day is also displayed*, to be changed to a date stamp the following day. Up to four call numbers can be displayed at the same time; the selected number is highlighted. · To scroll between messages, press the "Arrow up" on the Scroll key. Up to four messages can be displayed at the same time; the selected message is highlighted. Press OK to see the whole message, and the time and date it was received*.
Lock/Unlock the keypad Press the R-key and then the *-key to Lock/Unlock. Change the volume Press the Volume button up to increase the volume, down to decrease the volume. Switch the unit off/on The Switch off function has to be programmed as a Hot key. [. . . ] Test alarm Hold the red Alarm button until "Test alarm" is displayed. No-movement alarm The "A" icon indicates that No-movement alarm is operational. A warning signal sounds for 5 seconds before the alarm is activated and the "A" icon starts to blink. If the alarm has not been reset during the warning signal, the alarm is sent. [. . . ]
