AssuraPhysicalVerificationformsa keycomponentofthedesign, parasitic extractionandsimulationflowwithinthe VirtuosoCustomDesignPlatform. Asa trustedsolutionwithmanyhundredsof usersworldwide, itenablesdesignteams tocheck, identify, andcorrectdesignand connectivityerrorstoachievedesignsignoffbeforetape-out. [. . . ] A model contains a primary polygon (e. g. , contact, fuse opening, DRC error markers) and environment polygons (e. g. , metals enclosing contact, fuse metals/vias, waivable layout configuration per error marker). Pattern check is triggered by primary polygons in the design.

AssuraPhysicalVerificationoffersaGUI debugenvironmentthatinteractively stepsusersthroughtheprocessof resolvingLVSerrors. OncetheLVSrun iscomplete, userscanchoosetoopen theLVSdebugtools, suchastheshort locatorandrewirefunction, fromthe pop-upwindowtoexamineandcorrect theerrors.
UNIqUE PATTERN cHEckINg cAPABIlITy
Certainadvancedchecks, suchasmetal enclosureofcontactatline-end, are noteasytowriteandarebestchecked usingpatternrecognitionmethods. AssuraPhysicalVerificationincorporates uniquepatterncheckingcapabilitiesto accelerateadvancedruledevelopment andmaintenanceforchecksthatwould bedifficulttowriteusingtraditional approaches. Thisapproachcanprovide upto20xperformanceimprovement foradvancedchecks, whichinturncan improvetheoverallrun-timefortheentire DRCtaskbyupto2x.
