Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] We therefore recommend always using the Maxi-Cosi Rodi XR together with the backrest, in particular for children weighing between 15 and 25 kg (ages 3½ -7). the belt guide in the headrest guarantees the correct positioning of the shoulder belt. The two positions (reclining and sleeping) in the Maxi-Cosi Rodi XR ensure a comfortable ride for the child. Studies have shown that a large percentage of car seats are not used correctly. [. . . ] ⷠMake sure that any objects in the child's jacket or trouser pockets do not get stuck between the child and the seat belt, as this could result in injury during an accident. ⷠAdult passengers who are not wearing seat belts can also form a danger for a child in a car seat. ⷠAlways cover the Maxi-Cosi Rodi XR when parking the car in the full sun, as the plastic could become extremely hot and burn your child. ⷠTo prevent damage to the cover, do not remove the logos or instruction labels on the cover. ⷠAlways use the child car seat, even on short trips, as this is when most accidents occur. Never strap yourself and a child together in a car using a 3 or 2-point safety belt. ⷠTake short breaks on longer trips to allow your child some freedom of movement. The seat belt The Maxi-Cosi Rodi XR can be installed safely in a forward-facing position on nearly all positions in the car using the available car seat belts. On some seats, however, the belts are fitted so far forward that proper installation is not possible. In some instances, the seat belt buckle may be too long and therefore positioned too high against the base of the Maxi-Cosi Rodi XR (1). Using the Maxi-Cosi Rodi XR in a car The Maxi-Cosi Rodi XR consists of two parts: an adjustable seat and a removable backrest. Wrap the elastic around the tensioner until the desired tension has been achieved (8, 3). The two Maxi-Cosi Rodi XR positions The Maxi-Cosi Rodi XR can be adjusted into 2 positions (sitting and reclining) (9). ⷠWith one hand, pull the booster seat forward using the handle on the front and then pull or push the seat forward or backward into the desired position. At the same time, use your other hand to hold down the front of the Comfort Base (10). Once the Maxi-Cosi Rodi XR has been positioned as desired, you may place your child in the car seat. Note: Never adjust the position while a child is in the seat or when driving!Read the "The seat belt" section before placing your child in the car seat. Have your child sit in the MaxiCosi Rodi XR (11) with his back firmly against the backrest. Make sure that the child is positioned in the middle of the car seat and not leaning forward away from the backrest. When threaded properly, the belt runs along the red plastic belt guides in the car seat. Make sure that the lap belt does not press against the child's stomach but runs across his hips, and that it is secured tightly. [. . . ] 2 Fabric cover Removing the cover from the booster seat · Remove the cover from the hooks on the bottom (14, 1) and top (14, 2). ⷠPull the cover out from under the rim of the plastic belt guides (14, 3) and then pull it forward from the back across the armrests (14, 4). ⷠThe cover should now be fully removed from the booster seat. ⷠRemove the cover from the hooks on the inside of the backrest (16, 2).
