If you are unable to fasten the harness belts properly or pull them tight, contact your supplier immediately. Always use the belt pads, as they are essential for your child's safety. After fitting for safety purposes and for the optimum safety of the child check once more that. . . · the seat belt is tight and that it is not twisted, · the hip part of the seat belt passes over the red belt marks and belt tensioner(s), · the (diagonal) shoulder part of the seat belt is attached properly and passes through the two belt slots, along the red marks on the rear of the Maxi-Cosi Tobi, · both belt clamps are closed, · the belt tensioner(s) is in the tensioned, vertical position, · the entire Maxi-Cosi Tobi is installed securely and firmly in the car. Removing the Maxi-Cosi Tobi · Open the belt buckle of the seat belt (11). · Then first open both belt clamps (12) before releasing the belt tensioner. · Take the Maxi-Cosi Tobi out of the car. Tell the child never to play with the belt buckle. 3. 2 Seat positions (Adjusting the seat into sitting and reclining positions) The Maxi-Cosi Tobi can be set in 5 positions. · Pull the positioning handle under the front of the seat upwards and then pull or push the seat forwards or backwards (23). · Release the positioning handle in the desired position and push until you hear a "click". Check to make sure the Maxi-Cosi Tobi is securely locked in the desired position by pulling on it. 23 11 12 13 14 3. · Always use the seat, even on short trips close to home, as this is when most accidents occur. · The Maxi-Cosi Tobi may be used in the front seat and in the back seat. · Do not use the Maxi-Cosi Tobi in a seat where a frontal airbag is installed. · The seat must always be secured with the seat belt, even when not in use. · Make sure that the Maxi-Cosi Tobi is not jammed or wedged by heavy luggage, adjustable seats or closing doors. Do not replace the cover by a cover other than the original as the cover forms part of the total safety of the seat. · Always cover up the Maxi-Cosi Tobi when the car is parked in the full sun; plastic and metal parts may become extremely hot, this can cause burns and may discolour the cover unnecessarily. · Make sure that there is no baggage or other loose objects (for example on the rear shelf) in the car. · When making long journeys, make sure to take frequent breaks in order to give your child some room to move. · Keep the user instructions for future reference in the appropriate place at the back of the Maxi-Cosi Tobi. The safety of the seat can only be guaranteed by the manufacturer if it is used by its first owner.
