Connection to the mains supply Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label of the appliance. Before using for the first time Before the appliance is used for the first time, the blender jug and the lid should be thoroughly cleaned as described in the section General Care and Cleaning. Switch settings The following settings can be selected: P The appliance remains switched on as 0 1 2 3 long as the switch is depressed The appliance is switched off Low power Medium power Maximum power Short-term operation The appliance is designed to process average domestic quantities of food; it can be operated without interruption for a maximum of 45 seconds, after which it should be allowed to cool down for about a minute. Safety switch A special safety switch in the motor housing ensures that the appliance can only be operated once the blender jug and lid are properly locked in position. Before removing the blender jug, make sure that the control switch is in position 0. If the switch is not in its off-position (0), the motor will start immediately. Operation - Fit the blender jug to the motor housing with its handle on the right and lock it by turning anti-clockwise into the operation position. To add ingredients during operation, the stopper in the centre of the lid can be removed by turning it in an anti-clockwise direction and then lifting it off. Do not put any objects into the blender jug while the appliance is operating. - Insert the plug into the wall outlet and use the control switch to select the required power setting. Depending on the food to be processed, the appliance may also be operated for short periods of time with the pulse setting "P". - After using the blender, switch off and remove the plug from the wall socket. Wait until the motor has come to a complete standstill before removing the blender jug.
