Using the i. LINK® port
The i. LINK® port on the left side of the computer provides an extremely fast data transfer rate. In addition to high speed, the i. LINK® port also supports isochronous data transfer (the delivery of data at a guaranteed rate). This makes it ideal for devices that transfer high levels of data in real-time, such as video devices. As with USB ports, the i. LINK® port supports both Plug-andPlay (automatic configuration) and hot swapping (the ability to connect and disconnect devices while the computer is on).

Setting passwords
Setting a password lets you walk away from your computer, secure in the knowledge that nobody can access your files. When you set a password, you must enter the password before you can work on your computer again. Toshiba supports several types of passwords on your computer:
An instant password -- Secures your open programs and files when leaving the computer temporarily. A power-on password -- Prevents unauthorized users from starting or restarting the computer. A supervisor password -- Prohibits unauthorized users from accessing certain functions such as Toshiba Hardware Setup. This is useful if more than one person uses the computer.

Toshiba Utilities Setting passwords
A single user password supports the instant and power-on password functions. When setting up the various passwords, keep the following in mind:
