This option replaces the old Above 1 MB Memory Test Advanced Setup option. The settings are: Se tting Disabled De s cription AMIBIOS tests all system memory. AMIBIOS waits up to 40 seconds for a READY signal from the IDE hard disk drive. AMIBIOS waits for . 5 seconds after sending a RESET signal to the IDE drive to allow the IDE drive time to get ready again. AMIBIOS checks for a <Del> key press and runs AMIBIOS Setup if the key has been pressed. AMIBIOS does not wait up to 40 seconds for a READY signal from the IDE hard disk drive. If a READY signal is not received immediately from the IDE drive, AMIBIOS does not configure that drive. AMIBIOS does not wait for . 5 seconds after sending a RESET signal to the IDE drive to allow the IDE drive time to get ready again. You cannot run AMIBIOS Setup at system boot, because there is no delay for the Hit <Del> t o run Set up message. Enabled Pri/Sec Master/Slave ARMD Emulated as This option specifies the type of emulation used for a non-disk device attached as the primary master IDE device. The settings are Auto (AMIBIOS automatically determines the proper emulation), Floppy, or Hard Disk. 1st Boot Device This option sets the type of device for the first boot drive that the AMIBIOS attempts to boot from after AMIBIOS POST completes. The settings are Disabled, Network, Floptical, SCSI, CDROM, IDE-0, IDE-1, IDE-2, or IDE-3. S2056 Tomcat i810e 43 Chapter 3 BIOS Configuration 2nd Boot Device This option sets the type of device for the second boot drive that the AMIBIOS attempts to boot from after AMIBIOS POST completes. The settings are Disabled, Floppy, Floptical, CDROM, or IDE-0 3rd Boot Device This option sets the type of device for the third boot drive that the AMIBIOS attempts to boot from after AMIBIOS POST completes. The settings are Disabled, Floppy, Floptical, CDROM, or IDE-0 Try Other Boot Devices Set this option to Yes to instruct AMIBIOS to attempt to boot from any other drive in the system if it cannot find a boot drive among the drives specified in the 1st Boot Device, 2nd Boot Device, and 3rd Boot Device options. Initial Display Mode This option specifies the initial display mode when the system boots. The settings are: S e tti n g BIOS Silent De scription T he messages that AMI BIOS displays before boot ing t he system will appear on the system monit or T he messages that AMI BIOS displays will not appear on t he syst em monitor Display Mode at Add-On ROM Init This option specifies the system display mode that is set at the time that AMIBIOS POST initializes an optional option ROM. The settings are: Se tting Force BIOS De scription T he display mode currently being used by AMIBIOS is used. Keep Current T he current display mode is used. Floppy Access Control This option specifies the read-write access that is set when booting from a floppy drive.
